The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office is a dedicated public safety agency serving over 115,000 residents across 2,776 square miles in western South Dakota. We also serve over 3.5 million visitors annually, as Pennington County is home to Mount Rushmore National Monument, and Ellsworth Air Force Base.

We provide addiction recovery services, operate nationally accredited detention facilities, and support youth in crisis, all while ensuring the safety and well-being of those we serve.
